How To Build A Computer Part 1: Intro
Saturday, February 18th, 2012 | Author: admin

Alright….so people have been asking me non stop since the beginning of my channel “How do I build a computer?” Here is the series finally! 8) Parts You Will Need: 1. Case 2. Motherboard 3. CPU (Central Processing Unit) 4. CPU Cooler (if you buy an OEM version of the CPU, or if you want better performance) 5. RAM 6. GPU (Graphics Processing Unit AKA Video Card, unless your motherboard already comes with video built in, then this is optional) 7. PSU (Power Supply) 8. CD Optical Drive 9. Hard Drive 10. OS Disk (Operating System…EX: Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7) 11. Monitor (The Screen) 12. Keyboard/Mouse (Thats pretty much it. From here you add stuff if you want) You cant just go out and buy whatever though. You must make sure your parts are all compatible with each other. Make sure: 1. Motherboard fits in your case 2. CPU Fits in motherboard (Socket Type…EX: My CPU is an Intel Core i7 930, LGA 1366 Socket) 3. Custom Water Cooler Fits on Motherboard, not in the way of the RAM 4. RAM is compatible with motherboard and CPU (if you want more than 4GB of RAM, you need 64 bit Operating System) 5. There is a slot for your GPU, and that your GPU will fit in your case 6. Your PSU supplies enough power 7. Make sure the Monitor has the right connections for the GPU. **Just make sure everything is compatible with each other…do a little research online if you have any questions on component compatibility. Google is your best friend. 8) Alright, so this video is simply an intro

Here is a burning laser that I built nearly entirely from old computer parts, power is around 250mW. The power supply, multiple heatsinks, and laser diode all came from a computer. I had to pay for the Aixiz module and LM317 + resistors, but that only cost a few bucks. Before throwing away computer stuff, take a look inside and salvage the useful stuff! I’m also powering my 1200mW Blue laser with an old computer power supply. Tutorial: www.youtube.com

Newegg TV: How To Build a Computer – Part 2 – The Build
Tuesday, December 20th, 2011 | Author: admin

www.newegg.com Welcome to Part 2 of Newegg TV’s How To Build a Computer tutorial The Build! In this episode we’ve gone for epic-scale length and detail. We have two complete builds to share, and step-by-step instructions for how they’re put together. To make the video even longer, the first half covers an “external build”, which involves connecting your core components outside the case to do a test boot and make sure everything is working. Defective parts are rare, but they can put a damper on your build if they’re not identified early in the process. Next up is installing parts into the case, cable routing, and the moment of truth: the first boot after assembly is complete. Enjoy!
